I Hate Mondays the Movie

We are shooting interviews at the Venice Beach Pier for the I Hate Mondays Movie!

Do you hate mondays?

I sure do and I'm doing something about it! Farrin Rosenthal wrote a screenplay and we are producing the 3-D comedy feature film, "I Hate Mondays."

Think about the worst day you've ever had. The main character of the movie is going to have a Monday 10,000 times worse. It's going to be about a really, really bad Monday, lol. Click the Discussions tab above to learn more.

Why make this movie in 3-D? Because only with 3-D will you be able to see how much Mondays really suck.

If you hate Mondays or hate going to work or school or hate crappy movies and want to see "I Hate Mondays" become a movie, then please become a fan and tell all your friends to become fans as well.

You, yes you, can influence Hollywood and help get a movie you want to see made. Heres how.

The comedy feature film, "I Hate Mondays." If you hate Mondays or hate going to work or hate crappy movies & want to see "I Hate Mondays" become a Facebook fan at the I-Hate-Mondays-The-Movie Facbook Page

We are starting a YouTube channel called "I Hate Mondays - The Movie" and want everybody to subscribe. We will have cool videos, hopefully funny, and some contests. The more fans we can get, the sooner the movie will get made. http://www.youtube.com/user/iHateMondaysTheMovie

If your Mondays consist of you having a bad day come and tell us about it on Saturday.

We are shooting interviews at the Venice Beach Pier, Saturday Oct. 23 around 11am. If you are in Los Angeles, come down & tell us how much you hate Mondays. Spread the word!

Film Marketing, Relationship Marketing and Social Marketing.

What is the best way to market your film, your company and yourself? Good question... lets discuss some views on the subject.

The film business has been some of the best at hyping up movies and generating an uncontrollable desire to see a movie by the general public. I’m not going to mention any studios or film names but I’m sure you have experienced this yourself at one time or another. After all, there have been some films which have spent a very large percentage of the budget on marketing in lieu of spending the money on a quality script and production.

What I ask is this; Is this the most effective way to build a loyal following by your viewers? Is profit right now more important than future profits? How long is the public going to take this?

I personally think the public is very intelligent and deserves better. I know I do, and am not vain enough to think I am the most intelligent and most deserving person in the world. There are many people who I feel are more or just as deserving and intelligent as I am. For example, I just read a blog post by Brian Bourn Titled Worst Email Marketing Tactic I have Seen In a While

I received this same email and agree with Brian’s post. Brian goes on to discuss how this email had no value or relationship building quality and how it made him feel. Not only is this practice going on with email but it continues in micro blog post on Twitter, Facebook and who knows how many other social networks.

I myself made a reply to a post on my Facebook page yesterday which I normally do not do. But this poor fellow just happened to be the straw that broke the camel’s back. Some of my followers may have thought I was being a little too harsh. Even still… in the interest of educating my followers, I felt it was my duty to do so.

The post and my reply follows:

Michael [Last name Deleted]

Hello Kenny thought I'd send just a little inspiration which reminds us to protect our dreams and ignore those who doubt our abilities to succeed. Have a great day Kenny.Always Protect Your Dreams! Never allow someone to steal your dreams or desires. We need to always focus and ignore the nay sayers.

End of post:
***This post had a video clip from a movie which related to the message and this was a good message on the surface. In fact it would have been applauded by most who only saw the surface of the message and are not familiar with SEO and social marketing. But because I had not made a statement or mention about needing inspiration nor anyone doubting my abilities on my wall, the purpose of the message was obvious to me.***

My Reply:

Who me?
Who's got doubts?
Michael you have struck a nerve with me that I'm sure you did not intend. You might want to think about the negative effects of making such a post on others profiles. These are questions this post has brought to my ...mind.

Have you actually read my information?
Is there someone talking behind my back?
Is there something I am unaware of? or
Are you just plastering plagiarized video on my wall to gain visibility from my friends list?

***The post had a link which directed you off of Facebook to a commercial site. This is obviously an attempt to raise traffic on the site using my search engine PR rating and make a sale. My reply continues***

Normally I just delete such attempts but today, I think there are multiple lessons that can be learned from this post.

Anyone who has doubts about my abilities to achieve my dreams is OBVIUOSLY... someone who doesn't REALY know me and what I have already accomplished, not only for myself but for the benefit of many others.

Those are the type of people, who I DO NOT associate with. Why, because my time is very precious to me. I will never waste my time or energy trying to prove my past success and present abilities to those who do not believe and contribute to my desired direction and future goals.

I’ll give enough information to get the job done and motivate but really think if I have to work at proving myself to others I am talking to the wrong people. I would rather show my appreciation and love to those who respect me, and also show that they DESERVE my time. I would advise anyone else to do the same, if they want to succeed!

Let me add, I believe in you and your good will, and think you may have been misdirected. If you would like to know more about me and my abilities, private message me and we will discuss the details.

Positive Success,
Kenny

End of reply

As of yet there has been nor response to my reply. There has been no previous post by this person and because my memory is failing me more and more I vaguely remember recently accepting his request as a FB friend. Which is prompting me to re-evaluate my generous friend policies.

To me it was evident that the message had no indication that my post or information had been reviewed. If they had reviewed it and a statement I made prompted their actions they could have very easily started a conversation by posting on the relevant content or referred to that post when commenting privately on FB. Given the information I have provided do you agree that the only reason for posting to my wall was to generate traffic to their commercial site?

We all want traffic and financial benefits but making post without first building a relationship, is called "Social Spam" and is not a good idea for anyone.

This persons FB friends quantity had only 10 percent of my own, so I could easily tell they were new and just starting out with social marketing. That is why I added the last statement in my reply which included an offer to help improve their marketing and networking efforts. Would I take on another client and deal with him personally? Probably not, I’ve got enough of a workload as it is. But I would sure point him in the right direction to one of my team members who could give him the personal assistance he needed.

Positive Success,
Kenny

Using Social Networks To Promote Your Film?

One of the most talked about subjects in the social networks are opinions of films just released. But are you also using the social networks to promote your up coming projects?
One of the best ways to get your film off the ground is to get the right people to climb on board and make it happen. This is social marketing at its best and has been going on since the film industry started. Times have changed and the online tools have become available that make your social network span the globe.

There is no better time to take advantage of technology and get your project started!

2. An all-new Module on Social Media Affiliate Marketing that will take you from start to finish on how to dominate niches as an affiliate in social media.

3. Status Syndicator - his amazing social posting tool that gives you a 'from' line in your Twitter posts and allows you to schedule and edit future posts (plus lots of other great features)

4. Social Profit Tracker - Don's social tracking tool that shows you who's talking about you, or any keyword you wish to track, on most of the major social sites and the blogosphere.

A Rumor of Film Incentives Drying Up But NC Has a Deep Pool!

There have been rumors going around that the film incentives are drying up. I’m not familiar with other states but NC‘s opportunities are alive and holding strong.

Screen Gems Studios here in Wilmington, North Carolina has just completed Stage 10 which with 37,00sf holds the largest water tanks in North America and has been home to over 350 film, television and commercial productions. NC continues to be a major player today as we provide production services to the major Hollywood studios and the most successful ad agencies in the world.

As the founder of Sagitta Studios Creative Agency, sagittastudios.com and a native producer based here in New Bern, NC, Tax incentives is a subject that I take particular interest in.

The NC political climate has also been vocal on the subject and New Bern resident and Gov. Bev Perdue is being fully supportive of the NC incentive. Gov. Bev Perdue signed Senate Bill 943 allowing production companies a 25 percent tax credit for film projects in North Carolina, up from the previous credit of 15 percent. The bill also set minimum spending and hiring requirements for qualifying film companies working in the state.

“This legislation will help grow our $91 million motion picture industry, preserve and create thousands of jobs and increase investments in yet another emerging economic cluster,” said Perdue. “Providing a strong foundation for North Carolina’s film industry is essential as we work to build a strong and sustainable economy through increased diversification.”

July 2010 Aaron Syrett Director NC Film Office a marketing agency charged with recruiting motion picture and TV projects to North Carolina stated that “In the past couple of years North Carolina has made some pretty aggressive moves to keep the film industry in North Carolina, including this legislative session which just ended.”

The NC General Assembly made the following improvements to the incentive:

HB 1973:
• Eliminates the 15% and Alternative Film credit.
• Creates a 25% film Incentive.
• Increases per project cap to $20 million (was $7.5 million) –
• Defines, employee fringe contributions, including health, pension and welfare contributions as qualifying expenses.
• Defines per diems, stipends, and living expenses as qualifying expenses.

HB 713:
• Eliminates the 6.9% corporate income tax on the incentive taken by a production company. This allows the production company to realize a full 25% of qualifying expenses

For further information about the NC film industry see: ncfilm.com

The spring s still flow and the water is fine in Eastern NC, and if the lakes and estuaries are too warm for you then there are the cool streams in North Carolinas Smoky Mountains. Not only are there tax incentives but there are also the architectural richness from places like the Biltmore Mansion, log cabins, coastal forts and Marinas as well as stately homes built at the turn of the century.

So… if you’re worried about the profitability of your projects keep North Carolina in mind for your next big screenplay hit, the best film opportunities are yet to come.
