What is the best way to market your film, your company and yourself? Good question... lets discuss some views on the subject.
The film business has been some of the best at hyping up movies and generating an uncontrollable desire to see a movie by the general public. I’m not going to mention any studios or film names but I’m sure you have experienced this yourself at one time or another. After all, there have been some films which have spent a very large percentage of the budget on marketing in lieu of spending the money on a quality script and production.
What I ask is this; Is this the most effective way to build a loyal following by your viewers? Is profit right now more important than future profits? How long is the public going to take this?
I personally think the public is very intelligent and deserves better. I know I do, and am not vain enough to think I am the most intelligent and most deserving person in the world. There are many people who I feel are more or just as deserving and intelligent as I am. For example, I just read a blog post by Brian Bourn Titled Worst Email Marketing Tactic I have Seen In a While
I received this same email and agree with Brian’s post. Brian goes on to discuss how this email had no value or relationship building quality and how it made him feel. Not only is this practice going on with email but it continues in micro blog post on Twitter, Facebook and who knows how many other social networks.
I myself made a reply to a post on my Facebook page yesterday which I normally do not do. But this poor fellow just happened to be the straw that broke the camel’s back. Some of my followers may have thought I was being a little too harsh. Even still… in the interest of educating my followers, I felt it was my duty to do so.

Hello Kenny thought I'd send just a little inspiration which reminds us to protect our dreams and ignore those who doubt our abilities to succeed. Have a great day Kenny.Always Protect Your Dreams! Never allow someone to steal your dreams or desires. We need to always focus and ignore the nay sayers.

***This post had a video clip from a movie which related to the message and this was a good message on the surface. In fact it would have been applauded by most who only saw the surface of the message and are not familiar with SEO and social marketing. But because I had not made a statement or mention about needing inspiration nor anyone doubting my abilities on my wall, the purpose of the message was obvious to me.***

Who me?
Who's got doubts?
Michael you have struck a nerve with me that I'm sure you did not intend. You might want to think about the negative effects of making such a post on others profiles. These are questions this post has brought to my ...mind.
Have you actually read my information?
Is there someone talking behind my back?
Is there something I am unaware of? or
Are you just plastering plagiarized video on my wall to gain visibility from my friends list?
***The post had a link which directed you off of Facebook to a commercial site. This is obviously an attempt to raise traffic on the site using my search engine PR rating and make a sale. My reply continues***
Normally I just delete such attempts but today, I think there are multiple lessons that can be learned from this post.
Anyone who has doubts about my abilities to achieve my dreams is OBVIUOSLY... someone who doesn't REALY know me and what I have already accomplished, not only for myself but for the benefit of many others.
Those are the type of people, who I DO NOT associate with. Why, because my time is very precious to me. I will never waste my time or energy trying to prove my past success and present abilities to those who do not believe and contribute to my desired direction and future goals.
I’ll give enough information to get the job done and motivate but really think if I have to work at proving myself to others I am talking to the wrong people. I would rather show my appreciation and love to those who respect me, and also show that they DESERVE my time. I would advise anyone else to do the same, if they want to succeed!
Let me add, I believe in you and your good will, and think you may have been misdirected. If you would like to know more about me and my abilities, private message me and we will discuss the details.
Positive Success,
Kenny

End of reply
As of yet there has been nor response to my reply. There has been no previous post by this person and because my memory is failing me more and more I vaguely remember recently accepting his request as a FB friend. Which is prompting me to re-evaluate my generous friend policies.
To me it was evident that the message had no indication that my post or information had been reviewed. If they had reviewed it and a statement I made prompted their actions they could have very easily started a conversation by posting on the relevant content or referred to that post when commenting privately on FB. Given the information I have provided do you agree that the only reason for posting to my wall was to generate traffic to their commercial site?
We all want traffic and financial benefits but making post without first building a relationship, is called "Social Spam" and is not a good idea for anyone.
This persons FB friends quantity had only 10 percent of my own, so I could easily tell they were new and just starting out with social marketing. That is why I added the last statement in my reply which included an offer to help improve their marketing and networking efforts. Would I take on another client and deal with him personally? Probably not, I’ve got enough of a workload as it is. But I would sure point him in the right direction to one of my team members who could give him the personal assistance he needed.
Positive Success,
Kenny
